Some of the most recent Extras for my Tiger 1050
I bought a nice set of
screen fixings from
ProBolt via eBay.
They look very good
on the Tiger,
functional and
sophisticated without
shouting bling.
Problem - most SatNavs no longer have a
3.5mm jack socket and very few play MP3's.
Belkin make the "Rockstar" which allows 2
or more sources to be played at the same
time with up to 3 sets of headphones listening
in. Only £12 from Amazon and it works. The
Rockstar comes with 2 green leads with a
3.5mm plug at each end. I can play my
SatNav and MP3 simultaneously through this.
There must be so many bikers out there who
like me have been looking for such a cheap,
simple solution.
I have recently bought a Wunderlich Evo
Handlebar bag. It is waterproof and very well
made for £30. When you open the top flap
their is an organiser on the underside of the
flap which is just what I need for Tolls en
route. The main compartment also has a
waterproof zip and offers space to store my
Camera, phone, wallet, MP3 etc. It even has
a carry handle when off the bike. I bought
mine from Balderston's the BMW dealer in
Peterborough (They sell them on eBay for
£41).
STOP PRESS:
I have ordered some bright 1500 lumen
LED spotlights from eBay and a strip of LED
driving lights to fit to the Tiger.
I have just ordered another 6 way fuse box
to wire in the lights, grips, GPS charger in
the cockpit.
DeWalt Bi-Focal sunglasses only £12 +
P&P from the USA on eBay. They are
well made, flexible and fit inside a
helmet. I also ordered a pair with clear
lenses. The DeWalt's are worn by others
I ride with and come recommended.
1/4" socket set up to 14mm,
only £8 on eBay and this set
fits under my Tiger seat in
my tool holder. I have
decided to top up my Tiger
tool kit as I tend to cover so
many miles. I always throw
out the unwanted sockets
4.5, 5.5, 7,9,11 etc
I bought a 4 way automotive Fuse box that takes mini fuses (The Tiger
fuse box also uses mini fuses). I have wanted to tidy up my add on wiring
for some time. I connect my Heated Grips, SatNav charger, Lubetronic
Chain Oiler and Klan Heated Jacket, each with it's own fuse through this
box. I located it under the seat bolted to the underside of the cross
member behind the battery. Small, neat and practical. £6 on eBay. Another
job that only took me 2 hours after waiting 4 years to get around to it.
I have a 60 litre waterproof Tote bag from SW-Motech
(My bag is yellow) for my overland trip to Turkey next
year.
