Adrian's CCM 404ds page
Australian specification motor with high compression piston and a 39mm Keihn carburetor whereas the standard DRZ400
uses a 36mm Mikuni Carb with a lower compression eco friendly motor, Mine has the 11 litre fuel tank which is a real
boon, CCM manufacture the frame and fit WP forks and rear shock (as used by KTM). The end result is a proper off road
bike shorter, lighter, lower and more powerful than a Suzuki DRZ400 with better suspension. Probably the most
appropriate off roader for a Tiger owner to buy.
The engine is smooth and the gearbox is sweet. This 400 has much more power than my old XR600. The CCM feels light
and is nice to ride. Steering is a little odd but knobbly tyres on wet roads never feel secure in January. This bike should be
perfect for green lanes and I should still be able to take it round an MX track. Roll on summer.
No kick start as the CCM404ds has an electric start. I am not complaining
