I didn't have much planed for 2010 apart from some track days. I rode Rockingham and Brands Hatch again. I would like to
ride a couple of new motor racing circuits maybe Mallory Park, Oulton Park or Croft.
- I rode a Track Day at Rockingham Raceway on 31st May with No Limits Events. The Tiger performed well as ever.
The day was overcast and a little damp to start so we had to take it easy at first, the Temperature never got past 17
degrees. I managed to get in the grove and chewed up the edge of tyres nicely. Riding the Tiger 1050 on a Track is
good fun you just have to be smooth and measured. This time we used the International Circuit which includes 2
sections of the (Nascar) Oval Banking. I was flat in 5th in 2 places on the banking the rest of Rockingham is 3rd or
4th gear. On the day most riders were on Race Replicas with racing tyres and tyre warmers. The guys in my pit
seemed to appreciate me just turning up and riding a big Traillie. My Dunlop Roadsmart tyres are highly
recommended. Good for 6,000 miles on the road and grippy on a track.
- I rode an evening Track Day booked with No Limits for Brands Hatch on 29th of June. Great fun, on a great circuit.
Thanks to the world cup there were fewer riders which meant more track time. There was a Speed Triple in the
garage next to me so it was good to chat. The Tiger looked so tall and the suspension is too soft for a track but it
was a brilliant evening.
Trips planned for 2010 on the Tiger 1050
I am so busy with work and I want to spend more time at my Villa in Turkey so I did not take any long trips on the Tiger in
2010. I would like to ride up the East Coast of Scotland to John O'Groats. Unfortunately I do not have the time, I had to
repaint the outside of the house and like every one else, no pay rise, high inflation, no job security and sob! not much
chance of things getting better for 5 years so I'll have to save my pennies.
